What are in the spice packets that come with Ramen noodles?

Where can I find the list of ingredients for Ramen noodles? Can I get a lower sodium version?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25

Well, hold on to your hat! The ingredients, according to some packages, are soy sauce powder, monosodium glutamate, dehydrated leek, caramel color, chili spices, yeast extract, onion powder, garlic powder, beef powder, beef fat, dehydrated cilantro and sugar. There is now a low fat and low sodium version of ramen noodles. It’s offered by Nissin Foods. You should be able to find the product in your supermarket, and perhaps buy it by the case. Apparently, this version of ramen noodles cooks in three minutes, and it boasts 25% less sodium and is said to be 80% fat free. The name of the product is Choice Ramen. The noodles are air-dried as opposed to being deep-fried. If you’d like to dress up the meal, try adding sliced green onions and a sprig of fresh cilantro. You’ll find noodle ingredients by performing an online search on Google or Yahoo. Enjoy!

The spice packets in Ramen noodles are basically bouillon in powder form. You can buy boullion in any grocery store in either cubes, powder or paste form. In general the main ingredient in most bouillons is salt with what ever flavoring (Chicken, beef, seafood, pork, mushroom, vegetable etc.....).

Instead of using the packs that come with the noodles I highly recommend a paste version of bouillon called "Better Than Bouillon" made by Superior Touch http://www.superiortouch.com/retail/products/better-than-bouillon

They have low sodium versions as well. The jar goes a long long way and you don't have to use very much of it to flavor the noodles. Plus it tastes way better. You should be able to find it in any grocery store but you can also order it online from the link above. It's a staple in our house for sure!!!

Good luck
