Free and cheap things to do in Atlanta include visit the neighborhood parks, visiting a museum, or the zoo. Some activities that children would enjoy, include visiting Olympic Park, a large city park that often has free concerts and entertainment. There are also several good museums in Atlanta, including a science museum, a center for puppetry arts, and art museums. The Fernbank Museum is an excellent museum for children. Kids would love seeing the huge dinosaur bones on display. There is also an IMAX movie theater at the Fernbank, and there is usually at least one movie showing that would appeal to young children. Zoo Atlanta is a great zoo. Children love to see the pandas and other animals. Zoo Atlanta is a large zoo, so make sure that you have several hours to explore it.
