Chicagoland has many different Universities, colleges and other institutes of higher learning and many of them rank among the best in the world. The four most noteworthy schools in the area with a broad spectrum of studies are Northwestern University (located in Evanston), University of Chicago (located in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood), DePaul University and the University of Illinois-Chicago.
While all four of these have strong programs, Northwestern is probably the most famous and widely considered to have the best overall programs out of the group. However, it is also one of the most expensive. The Unversity of Illinois-Chicago is a state school which means that it can offer slightly better prices – especially for residents of Illinois.
