One of our favorite festivals we try to attend each year is the Covered Bridge Festival in Ashtabula, Ohio. The event is held in October (this year scheduled Oct. 9-10th) and features a tour of 16 covered bridges. At each covered bridge on the tour, various crafts and homemade food items are sold. You can enjoy a cup of hot cider, view fabulous handcrafted items, or hike in the beautiful area nearby. The festival continues on at the local fairgrounds where you will find lots more to see and do. There's antiques on display, a tractor pull, entertainment, more crafts, and something for everyone. It's a beautiful time of year to visit these historical covered bridges. It's like taking a trip back in time.
