You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The Bioshock series is a fantastic series of games which are run on almost all platfroms (PC Xbox 360 and Playstation 3). It's a first person shooter type game (think DOOM) and is extremely addicting and super fun albeit rather scary at times. It's created by 2K games and is a definite must have for your game collection.
What sets this series apart from other games? It's simplicity, it's design, its scariness (but not TOO scary) and it's level of fun! It's fairly easy to learn (it's explained step by step thru the story) and is mastered fairly quickly, but remains challenging and super engaging! Once you start playing it, you'll get hooked and wonder what's coming next - meaning the storyline is very well written and truly keeps you guessing. It's also visually AMAZING to look at. The graphics are simply some of the best out there.
The first one (Bioshock) is set in the underwater city of Rapture in the mid 50's (or around that time). A man named Andrew Ryan created the place as an escape for the genius scientists, artists and the like to live in a eutopian-like society, which, naturally, goes drastically bad.
You come in after the "fall" of Rapture, and arrive after a chance plane crash leads you to the entrance...
The second game (Bioshock 2) is a return to Rapture a few years after you've left it- and I don't want to give anything away, but it's every bit as good as the first.
The third one (Bioshock infinite) will be entirely different (it hasn't released yet, it's set for 2012) and is set in the sky versus underwater... Should be awesome!
Now, the thing that sets the Bioshock series apart from others is you get to use both guns AND "magic" called Plasmids (which are really genetic alterations to your body) that range from fire, to shock plasmids and one even turns your hand into a hive of killer bees that you command! Everything is upgradeable and is really fairly straightforward as far as using them. There's no armour to worry about (which keeops things simple), and the maps are comprehensive so you can see where you've been, where you need/want to go.
There are so many facets to this game, from Little Sisters (who collect "Adam" from dead bodies that you use to get plasmids) to Big Daddies (who you have to defeat to get to the Little Sisters) to Spider Splicers to Houdini Splicers... the list is huge and diverese and REALLY cool.
The environment is the scariest part - I'll just let you experience that for yourself. It's not a horror game, but it's definitely unnerving. You can play it in the dark and have a couple of good frights, but nothing too terrifying that will give you nightmares or anything!
Go check them out!! You can get them at any Gamestop or even online - just google it!!

M$Bioshock 1 had very good reception with ratings averaging around 9.5-10 on a a maximum score of 10. Several 'game of the show' awards were given to Bioshock 1. It won the award for PC Game of the Year, Best Artistic Design, and Best Use of Sound at IGN awards for 2007.
The sequel of Bioshock 1, Bioshock 2 achieved lower review scores, but still scored around 8.5-9.0 on 10.
In my opinion, both games are very good and is a must play for any video game fan. You can learn more on the game and its story at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BioShock .
You can have a better idea on how the gameplay is by watching Bioshock trailers, demo footage and walkthrough videos on youtube.

Bioshock games can be bought at online game stores or at local retail shops. Nowadays, the games are available at decent prices. E.g:

I'd also like to point out that it's hard to be concise as it's a fairly long game - but worth every minute. Like I said, a definite "must have" for your collection! You'll play it at least twice thru to find everything, so you get your mony's worth to be sure.
P.s.s - sorry for the typos and I keep saying "it" when I mean "They" meaning Bioshock and Bioshock 2. Both are incredible, but the first one is (obviously) where the history begins.
