What are 5 kitchen utensils or small appliances that would be a good gift for someone starting out in their first place?
My niece is getting ready to move into her very first place with nothing. I would love to buy her a few things to get started. Very good question. The answer will more than likely vary with each person but if I was moving into my first place, I think the items below would be in high demand
Silverware – It sounds very boring on the surface but some people may not have a set of knives, forks, spoons, etc and one can not eat or prepare their meals without the proper utensils.
Microwave – Aside from the stove, this is probably one of the most important appliances in the kitchen. This is a practical gift because everyone will need to use one at one time or another and it’s good for making dinners when the schedule gets a bit hectic.
Toaster – convenient for people who need to eat breakfast on the go. Good for making toast waffles etc.
In addition to the items above, I may consider throwing in a can-opener and dishes if they don’t already have these item.
