What activities are available for children to do in Atlanta, Georgia?

Our family is taking a mini-vacation to Atlanta, Georgia in July. We will be there for five days and would like to find some places in advance that are family oriented so that it will be a little less hectic when we arrive.

There will be three children; ages 3, 7 and 9.

Since travel is rather expensive by itself, it would be nice to visit some museums or historical places in Atlanta that would be either free or have low admission charges.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I do not know what your overall budget for your trip is but I would recommend looking into the Atlanta City Pass. Go to citypass.com and select Atlanta as your destination city. We found it very useful last summer while we had family in town.
