Why do you think Notorious B.I.G was gunned down?

I think he was gunned down because he was seen as the face of east coast hip hop. Tupac was the face of west coast hip hop and when he was killed, killing his counterpart may have been seen as the answer to the east coast west coast battle. Whether or not Biggie had any part in his death may not have mattered.
