I also found that going to the shooting range and doing some target practice can relieve stress. Shooting firearms (or even a bow) accurately forces you to concentrate on your target and technique to the point of pushing other concerns to the back of your mind. Pulling the trigger or releasing the arrow, and then being rewarded with hitting the target gives you a bit of satisfaction. It's basically a Zen exercise.
I also use deep breathing exercises whenever I find that I am stressed out, having problems falling asleep or really stuck on a frustrating problem. If you simply close your eye, breath deeply and slowly, and will your heartbeat to slow, it can be surprisingly relaxing and refreshing. A few minutes of this can help you to escape from daily pressures and clear your head enough to make calm rational decisions.
Finally, I suggest managing your caffeine and stimulant intake. You need only look at my avatar to know that I love coffee, but I am careful to limit how much I consume and when. If I'm having a rough afternoon and go and drink a couple of cups of coffee to "stay sharp", I find that my perceived stress goes up. The caffeine can make you jittery or excitable, and that makes it harder to avoid stress behaviors. A frustrating problem is more likely to increase my pulse if I'm amped up on caffeine.

• Good. Exercise and breathing meditations are great preventative methods. All the other suggestions are great, I suggest archery as well as a hobby - or any hobby that allow you to focus and concentrate. Aerobic exercises help as well as tai chi, qigong and yoga. If you condition the body, you help condition the mind.

i would say this is the best one for me 1. Laughter is the best medicine for the soul and the heart "Laughter, along with an active sense of humor, may help protect you against a heart attack, according to a recent study by cardiologists at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore" (information quoted from http://www.umm.edu/features/laughter.htm). I always consider a good joke is the key to keeping me happy especially if you have some one that is good at telling jokes by doing this it takes your mind off stress and the worries you face in life.
2. Listening to music especially uplifting and inspirational music. Nothing beats a hectic and stressful day at work when you go home relax and enjoy some nice songs that you really love. eg His Eyes Is On The Sparrow,You Raise Me UP etc . please enjoy the video posted.

3.This one is the most effective of all Prayer. Nothing beats a good prayer or a strong psalms, especially Psalms 23 or the Lords Prayer. I would recommend that you should go to some where with little or no human interference close your eyes and start to say the prayer by doing this you focus on the good aspect of life and you purge away all of the consuming emotions of stress. This also relaxes you thus making you feel more calm so that you would be able to deal with any situation that comes your way.

4.Getting rid of all of your worries by telling a friend or a close family relative how you feel about the situation. Also you can get advice from the individual.
5. Seeking professional help on how to deal with stress. You can do this by going to your Pastor or seek the services of a psychologist.
6. Surround your self with positive people who would help you through hard times in your life.
7. Last but not least always be confident of how you are and try to build a stronger character.

Sir, Yoga and meditation are good things for stress.
Think about good things that happened to you.
Look on the lighter side of things.
Read a good book.
Often in streesful situations one turns to the almighty.
For an acute stressful situation - a couple of deep breaths may work wonders.
