Perhaps it depends on the person, my wife is in much better shape physically than I am, but she gets a good cold 2-3x a year. I haven't been off my feet for more than 1 day in more than about 4 years now.

I think, in general, men tend to get more stressed out and suppress it. When women get stressed out, they have more "training" in dealing with those feelings.

Stress is a key contributor to getting sick and staying sick.
