What are the best movies available to watch instantly on Netflix?

I'm thinking of buying a Netflix subscription as a Christmas gift and using the streaming service for myself. I was wondering if the selection is any good. Tip goes to the person with the most comprehensive list with the best movies in it.

The Dark Knight is not currently available for instant streaming on Netflix. I doubt it will be available for a couple years.
