I always compress with the standard MPEG-4 setting for Blip.tv on Compressor. It's always worked for me, and I'm going to bet anything that's why the conversion is timing out on you. First of all, I think that size of a file is too much strain on the iPod option and then for Blip.tv to convert it may just be creating more of a mess. Go with the MPEG-4 setting. It may take a little longer, but it'll be worth it. Plus the quality of your video will be much better.

Anyone know why Blip.tv file conversion would timeout, and best solution to avoid it?
Uploading the video to my highschool's musical production and the flash video conversion timed out. In order to try again I have to reupload the large 500+mb file. Anyone know what might cause the timeout? Would I be better to compress the flash myself and upload it aswell? Could it be that the iPod option from Apple "Compressor" is too much for blip?

The big issue here is I'm uploading my school's musical (act one and two) with the idea being that they can watch online or download the source file to burn to DVD. So the files are going to be big/long no matter what... its just a pain to take all the time to upload only to have it not work out.
