I'm fairly sure both Youtube.com and Break.com are custom built.
Something like PHP Fusion or Wordpress would be better suited, in my opinion.

Each CMS has a dedicated following. Each has strengths and weaknesses. I looked into this a while back myself to try and get a better understanding of when to select which CMS. This link provided a fairly comprehensive review of the strengths and weaknesses:
