What is the best way to find reviews on web host providers? Which host provider do you use and why?

I am using MediaTemple for blog-stalk.com and Siteground for denshao2.com. Mediatemple uses a cloud network to enable tremendous surges in bandwidth requirement. This is useful for a social type site like blog-stalk. Siteground is slow and not very scalable, but it's very cheap. I think it's around $5 per month. I don't need the bandwidth on the other site, because it's just a private blog where I don't really expect an audience.
