transferring a domain name is usually very easy, but there are several different things that can mean.
do you mean transferring it from one domain name registrar to another like from Aplus.net to GoDaddy.com?
do you mean making the domain point to a different hosting account or website?
or do you mean he has sold it or given it away and needs to change the ownership?
each has a different method, but in every case, the easiest way to take care of it is to call the domain registrar, like GoDaddy, and ask for help. an answer could be given here, but would have to be very detailed to go into each issue that might come up in the transfer process.
so i recommend having your friend contact the company he registered it through and ask them to help him.
i do not recommend giving your friend's information to anyone online unless he knows them personally and asks you to.
