Answer: This web hosting company provides the best value in hosting for users of WordPress, MediaWiki, etc.

Respond in the form of a question. Jeopardy-style. A short explanation on why you chose the host you did would be considered most helpful.

What is http://www.a2hosting.com/ ?

I've dealt with a lot of web hosts since my first website back in 1996. I've had the least aggravations and most professional experience with A2. I've been using them for over 2 years. I learned about them because they host Merlin Mann's blog.

Asker's Rating:
• A2 looks fantastic. Thanks. You responded with a question, explained your choice, and even mentioned a site which uses the host's services.

Best answer, r3v!

What is www.servage.net?
Source(s):
I've used it. It's the cheapest AND reliable at the same time and you get lots of discounts and offers. 510 GB Web Space, 5010 GB Transfer (etc.), only $6.45 a month.

Servage does look appealing. But with similarly-priced alternatives offering unlimited space and transfer, I've got to look more into those.
Thanks!

What is DreamHost.

Dream host supports those two apps and many more, is relatively cheap, has great customer support, allows shell access and has yet to have any unscheduled downtime for our site.

I've heard a lot about DreamHost. From what I can tell, though, the cheap prices come when you pay in advance for a long time.

Bluehost is good for start up blogging. It's affordable and quiet reliable.

I was hosting some of my blog on bluehost for couple of years until recently moved because my blog visitor has overgrowth the server limit.

What is trap17.

For anyone who would like completely free web hosting, with the catch that you need to post a few messages on a forum now and then, this might be your choice. Since you are active on this site, I assume contributing to the forums would probably not come as a hardship. I myself used trap17 to host my web site, and found it provided everything I needed.

Eventually, I lost interest in the forum, and moved my site elsewhere. The service was fine, but I took a vacation from the computer for a while, and would have had to make several posts on the forum to re-enable my site. I just couldn't be bothered to do it. It's not for everyone, but if you want free and reliable hosting, and you don't mind being an active member of a message forum to maintain it (You can do this with less than a post a day, I think), it may be for you.

You can check out the details here.
They also have a pay alternative available for the cheapest I have ever seen, myself. I am not involved with this company in any way, and use blogger.com and google pages for my web sites now, but did enjoy their services in the past.

Cool recommendation. trap17 definitely sounds interesting, but not what I'm looking for. I am willing to pay for hassle-free hosting, and being required to post on a forum regularly sounds like a hassle to me. :-)

What is LiquidWeb?

I've had accounts in Bluehost, Hostgator and Dreamhost but for actual service and excellent performance, LW tops all of those.

what is NearlyFreeSpeech

you only pay for what you use. the more you use the cheaper each extra GB gets. there's little point paying for 10000000GB/month if you're not going to use it. companies like that tend to oversell their resources anyway.

I _really_ like this concept. I don't think I'm ready for it yet, though. But this is surely something to remember. Thanks!
