Why do I have challenges with my Mac sometimes? Sometimes distorted screens or choppy text? Is this normal? This is in Safari browser.

Sometimes, but not always... the text looks choppy, or even parts of the screen look chopped up.

Have you ever tried a different browser to try to narrow it down to Safari? I looked into the Font issue and there seems to be an issue when you upgrade to Safari 4. If you recently upgraded then here is one thing to try.

Two fonts adversely affect Safari (Helvetica Fractions & Times Phonetic)

1. Open Font Book in your Applications folder
2. Enter either of those names in the spotlight panel.
3. If either appears, disable it via the Edit menu.
4. If the above referenced fonts applies to your situation, download a copy of Font Nuke. This will allow you to clean the Font cache.
5. When done, restart the computer/Safari.

This is not normal @easyeboy, nor is it typical of other Mac users. It appears to be a CSS issue. Are you applying a special style sheet within your Safari session? Go to SAFARI, PREFERENCES, ADVANCED and make certain that the STYLE SHEET option is set to NONE SELECTED.

This was already set, so it probably has nothing to do with the settings.

I have the same problem with Firefox on the MAC.
Reloading the page will not reformat it correctly but ten minutes later the same page will format correctly.
