Assuming you are using Windows OS, FF stores the temp internet files in
\Documents and Settings\$yourLogin\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\s6rldwk9.default\Cache
You can configure size of the cache folder but not the location.

But you select where you want to store the downloaded files

Local settings folder is hidden by default in Windows. you need to set it to show the hidden files to view the folders under local settings.

If that doesn't work for you, you can view the actually directory location by opening a new Firefox window/tab and typing in
about:cache
and looking for the path file.

Inactive storage: 202 KiB
List Cache Entries
Disk cache device
Number of entries: 1370
Maximum storage size: 51200 KiB
Storage in use: 13623 KiB
Cache Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\Wel-Come\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\o60mnuqk.default\Cache
List Cache Entries
Offline cache device
Number of entries: 0
Maximum storage size: 512000 KiB
Storage in use: 0 KiB
Cache Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\Wel-Come\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\o60mnuqk.default\OfflineCache
List Cache Entries
After that click on "list cache entries" under "disk cache device"
it will list u all entries stored on your disk..
you can access these files directly as these are configured as octet stream..
by using appropriate program......

go to Start->Run and type in/copy and paste C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4krz7144.default\Cache

if u want to access temporary files stored by mozilla firefox you can have them by entering "about:cache" in the address bar.. this will display window with following text...
