The only alpha that you should establish is yourselves. You should not interfere in the natural dynamics of your two dogs; let them figure out who is alpha and only interfere if it turns into a violent battle of wills. If you interfere when they are working it out between themselves, you risk causing a lot of confusion that would result in further, more troublesome issues.
