We have a beautiful perennial winter savory in our herb garden... any suggestions for recipes, teas, etc??

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Savory has a great strong flavor and I like to use it in soups and stews. Because I am a vegetarian, I don't use stock to get that rich meaty flavor; I use savory. (Or miso) It's also good in beans. Don't add it right at the beginning of a long cooking time, but not right at the end either. It tastes best if it's simmered a bit but it loses it's flavor if you cook it too long.
I don't think I'd like it in tea.
I am told it is great with chicken.
