We are going to Prague next summer and looking for good restaurant recommendations.

My favorite aspect of this restaurant is the laid-back atmosphere. Nothing fancy, but the food is great and inexpensive compared to many of the other restaurants in Prague. It's also fun, with cafeteria-style dining (ever order something with only a foreign language description and been disappointed with what was placed in front of you...it's good to pick your food by sight until you know what you like by name.)
The restaurant is located in the heart of Prague, near the "Old Town Square" so it's scenic to say the least. When you walk in, you will be greeted and handed a meal card. Walk around and select whatever looks good and have the card marked. After the meal, simply return the card to the cashier and pay for the meal. Oh, and don't lose the card, or you will be charged a significant fee, as they have no idea how much you ate. I've visited Ceska Kuchyne a few dozen times and never lost a card, so it's not really a problem.
Ceska Kuchyne is located at Havelska 11 in Prague. Addresses are tricky over there, so check with the information person at your hotel or at any information booth. Be sure to explain (or better yet, show them the name written down) that the exact name of the restaurant is "Ceska Kuchyne" as the term is generally used to describe restaurants that serve Czech food.
That's my first pick. If you choose another restaurant, here are some suggestions:
Zlata Lyra
U Kocoura (my second favorite)
Restaurace U Mlynare (fancy atmosphere, bit more costly. This one actually has a web site: http://www.umlynare.cz/ )
Some of my favorite meals:
Svickova na Smetane (favorite Czech meal)
Segedinsky Gulas
Madarsky Gulas
VeproKnedloZelo (close second place)
Ovocne Knedliky (dessert...very good)
In general, there is a restaurant on every corner in Prague. Be sure to find the ones that serve traditional Czech food. Most of those restaurants show the menu outside the front door, and many have English translations. Enjoy your trip next summer!
