Was the return of Futurama everything you hoped it would be? Will the show survive a second run?

On June 24, 2010 the cable tv network Comedy Central began airing new episodes of Futurama, an animated series spawned by Matt Groening - creator of The Simpsons. Was the "all new" episode everything you hoped it would be? Do you think the show has a long-term future, or has it been too long of a break to rekindle the Futurama fire?

Watching Futurama yesterday was like getting back in touch with an old friend who hadn't changed a bit since high school/college. Everything i loved about its old run and the movies was right on target, and then some. Futurama got the short end of the stick from Fox, but thanks to the dvd sales, syndication on Comedy Central, and the 4 movies, it's getting another chance at life.

Just like Family Guy did.

and I'm so saving that pic.

Yeah, I think it will last at least a few seasons this time. The networks won't be so quick to cancel it again.

I think the new episodes have started strong, it really does feel like it never stopped. I love the combination of sci-fi and comedy as a genre and Futurama has always done it so well. I might cut some slack for saying it, but I always thought they cancelled the wrong Matt Groening show (although then we would have missed out on The Simpsons Movie).
