Was John F. Kennedy really killed because he tried to break up the phone company, or was it because of Marilyn?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

G'day Researchzilla,

Thank you for your question.

Noone really knows why Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK. However, I doubt that either Marilyn Monroe or Ma Bell had much to do with it. After all, Ma Bell was broken up in the 1980s without any assassinations.

Regards

I doubt that a secret that big could have been kept secret for long.

Are you kidding? The government is notorious for being terrible at keeping secrets.

More likely a lone Communist sympathizer who was looking to make himself feel important after a troubled childhood.

Neither...it was because he wanted to end the Vietnam war and he wanted to put the country back on the gold standard. If we were on the gold standard now we would not be in the current econimic crisis. Our dollars were backed by gold until 1933, but now they are federal reserve notes with nothing backing them.

ah, and so goes the "wizard of oz" allegory (you've heard that one, right? i had an econ prof in grad school who was obsessed with that movie/theory - that the entire wizard of oz was about the gold standard)

There are many weird theories into the death of JFK, and I had to research them for a school project. The ones you say are invalid. The theory that is most likely true is that Lee Harvey Oswald thought that he would be famous, but he hadn't done anything, so he killed the president.
