Was David Berkowitz (son of sam) considered possessed by any reputable religious figures?
He had claimed that a possessed dog commanded him to do the things he did, then after being imprisoned he claimed to be possessed by the demon "Beelzebub".
At first in his letters he referred to "father Sam" which was later found out to be his neighbor Sam Carr, the owner of the supposedly possessed dog. Then his story slightly changed, and since then it has continued to do so.
"After consulting with several psychiatrists, police released a psychological profile of their suspect on May 26, 1977. He was described as neurotic and probably suffering from paranoid schizophrenia and believed himself to be a victim of demonic possession."
Are there any claims of Berkowitz being possessed that came from any one besides Berkowitz himself? If so was there any recognition of the characteristics of the demon "Beelzebub'? Was there ever an exorcism?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I found a tidbit of info on this. It states that it was a hoax. He was never possessed. His story about Sam Carr and demon possession was a hoax admitted by David himself.
Here is a bit of info!
