I believe it is illegal to have sea turtle as pet. As all species of sea turtles are listed as threatened or endangered. Many people catch sea turtles for their eggs, meat, fat, shells and now as pet. I would advice don't give more reason for others to make sea turtle as business tool. If you like sea turtles, you can visit them in aquatic center around your area or join as volunteer to protect sea turtles. You can visit this website to find out more, http://www.charityguide.org/volunteer/vacation/sea-turtles.htm.

Sea turtles are found in the ocean and there are actually seven different kinds of them. These are:

Flatback
Green
Hawksbill
Kemp's Ridley
Leatherback
Loggerhead
Olive Ridley

Sea turtles are known to have a life expectancy of up to a hundred years, which is longer than that of most other species of turtle. Because sea turtles have been hunted by humans all over the globe, many of them are now an 'endangered species'; a special breed of animal protected by law to live freely in the oceans.
*All of the sea turtles species are protected under Appendix I of the Convention on International trade In Endangered species (CITES).
**Appendix I species are the most stringently regulated
because their status is creeping close to extinction.
This appendix includes all species threatened
with extinction (e.g., some cacti, some orchids,
African gorillas, and parrots) that may or may not be
affected by trade. Permits for the export of these
species cannot be issued except under special circumstances,
and none of these species can be used
for commercial purposes.
