Videos not working on some pages

I am a qc'er here and have noticed that when I am finalizing the page here i get an error message that reads...

embedding disabled by request
watch on youtube

I sure hope no one is being penalized for this... also is there a work around rather than adding another video?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Embedding can be disabled by the uploader, and is indeed 'on request'. The only alternative is to search for another video, or 'link' to the video on YouTube itself. Also, you can try dailymotion, which often has the same video, with the same name.

Yes, this is a bit of a problem for QC work.. The same would apply if I were to QC, and someone would add a HULU video (which is only visible for US residents).

I don't know of any way to circumvent this. It's the uploader who decides in this case. The only thing you can do, is add it temporarily to another page, and see if it will load. If it does, it can be used to complete the task..

Edit: I just checked my Axe Clean Your Balls page, and the video on that page still loads correctly. So, it's not an all-video issue..

I believe Rob was saying that this morning, that none of his pages had videos. Maybe YouTube is disabling videos that are getting too much traffic? I try to pick videos that don't have a ton of views, because sometimes those get taken down for using too much bandwidth.

I don't think there is a workaround if YouTube is denying access.
