If you want to watch movies from Netflix on Firefox, all you have to do is download the IE-Tab add on. And in the IE Tab options (Tools menu, IE Tab Options) add "http://www.netflix.com" to the sites filter. I have to tell you, Netflix is the one that controls how long the video can buffer. But if you have other problems with Netflix let me know, happy movie watching!

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do about the buffer issue. It is my understanding that Netflix sets this to help limit people wasting bandwidth. I have had similar issues when using the Netflix video on demand service, but i found things work much better with the new version of Silverlight.

How Do I get Netflix to Buffer More Content?
I'm using Netflix Instant Streaming (also known as Watch Instantly). I'm trying to watch it on my computer at home, and I know it's not the computer being slow. My internet is slow, so I'd like to just let about half of the video load before I begin watching. I first used the Instant Streaming with my Laptop at a friend's house with his much faster connection, and it would let me buffer about half of the episode before I started watching, but I really didn't need to considering his connection was fast enough to buffer faster than the video played.
Now that I try it on my Connection, Netflix will only let me buffer about 60 seconds ahead, and then stop the buffer. I've tried going into my Firefox settings and Changing all of the cache settings to let me cache up to 1 gig, but still nothing.
I'm using the latest version of Firefox, and the computer has 4 gigs of RAM and a x2 Core AMD 2.8GHz processor, so the computer has enough System Memory and Processing power.
I was thinking there was some way to change the settings of the Netflix player, or the Silverlight Plugin that you use to watch Netflix Videos with Firefox. If Anyone knows a way to change the settings in the About:Config portion of Firefox so that it will let me buffer as long as I want.
What I don't get is how it was able to continuously buffer at one place, but on my connection it's limited to buffer only 60 seconds. How do I get it to buffer without limitations?

The first thing to do is make sure you are running the latest version of Silverlight (should be 3.0). The new version fixed this issue for me.
