Xbox 360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii -- Which one will you get next, if you don't already have all three, and why?

I have Xbox 360 and Wii. I would say that it depends on what type of gamer you are. If you are looking to get in some serious game time with a wide variety of titles (not to mention the Netflix and Windows Media Center streaming) 360 is your answer. If you are looking for something to do when you have company over, the Wii is the way to go. Everytime my mother comes to the house, she wants to play - and apart from some PopCap titles, she hasn't really played any games since I was a kid and we'd rock Qbert and Frogger on our Atari 800.
PS3 is still just too expensive for what you are getting at this point. You could get a stand-alone blu ray player AND a Xbox360 Arcade (or Wii for that matter) for what you'd spend on the PS3. There are still some pretty attractive PS3 exclusive titles like Little Big Planet and MGS4, but other long running PS titles like Final Fantasy are going multi-platform now.

I don't play any of these because I like playing games on my Mac where I can switch between work and Call of Duty 4.
I do have the Wii for when we have kids/guests over the house and have had fun playing it.
I'd like to watch HD movies so I'm thinking of getting the playstation for the bluray player, but I'm told XBOX has Netflix in HD... true?

Yep, that's very true. Xbox 360 has Netflix integration(that was released with the New Xbox Experience) which you can stream Movies/TV shows from Netflix directly to your Xbox 360, and some are in HD(Like Heroes, 30 Rock, The Office and so on). There is no lag, but that really entirely depends on your internet connection. Still a small library of Movies/TV shows, but will change all in due time. Plus, at $8.99 for one rental and unlimited streaming, it's a hard thing to beat.
Note that Sony has no plans to release something similar to Xbox 360's Netflix integration, at least not right now.

Yes, Netflix on the 360 will auto detect if your selected movie is available as 720p, and if your broadband connection can support it. If you do, it will tell you it is switching you to HD. It works extremely well and it doesn't saturate your network connection. There aren't as many HD titles, and in regular resolution the streamed movies look really nice on my 42" TV, at least the ones in widescreen.
I have multiple Xbox 360s for gaming as well as to use as Windows Media Center Extenders... I'm eyeing up the PS3 because of potential future titles but also because of the inclusion of a Blu-Ray player since I do not have one yet.
The xbox 360 is the most compelling console imo. The online community, games, netflix, and media extenders make is a really awesome htpc. The Wii doesn't have a huge 3rd party , and the ps3 is still too pricey for me.
Have had two Xbox 360s for over two years (this way I won't spend all day fighting my kid over who gets to play what). We love them to death.
Got him a Wii about a month ago, it's gathering dust and hasn't been used for at least two weeks. He ignored the half dozen games we bought for it, instead kept playing Wii Sports (bundled with the console).
The PS3? No appeal, except for Little Big World. If Sony can come out with at least five games with the same appeal as Little Big World, then I could justify getting one. I can't buy a console simply to buy one game. And I couldn't care less about Blu Ray when I have both AppleTV plus Netflix streaming on the Xbox 360s.

Sony Home looks like such a disaster that it makes me want to avoid the PS3 altogether. The Wii continues to offer up games for babies. So, 360 is the winner.
I own an Xbox 360, and have no plans of purchasing a PS3 or a Wii. The major draw for PS3 is its inclusion of a Blu-Ray player. Unfortunately Blu-Ray discs are still extremely expensive and do not have that much better quality unless you are watching on a 50+ inch television. This effectively eliminates the draw of the PS3. The Wii is a fun console to play but it is basically a novelty for me. Sure it is fun to play every once in awhile with a group of friends, but given its price I want a console that I can play everyday if I choose by myself or with a group of friends. Additionally the selection of games available for Wii does not even compare to Xbox 360 or PS3. Unless my current Xbox 360 breaks, my next major console purchase will be the next generation Xbox 360.
Currently, I only have a Wii. I love it. However, I would probably buy a PS3 next if I were to buy one. The PS3 has better graphics and better games. Also, because you can play any playstation game on it (whether it's PS1, 2, or 3), which means that you can find cheap games. However, the Wii is still my top choice because it offers such a unique game play.
actually, Sony has discontinued backwards compatibility in newly manufactured PS3s, so if you are looking for this functionality, you'll have to buy used.

- actually, the Mahalo PS3 page needs to be updated on this feature.

I have a Wii but I plan on getting a PS3. PS3 has better graphics for 1080p 52" tv's and a lot better first person shooter games, which is what I enjoy playing. The Wii is going to my kids.
I had a 360 first, and I think that was the right choice for me, although the PS3 has slightly more powerful hardware, I did not notice an appreciable difference in the games between the two, and the vast majority of the games available are out for both platforms. There has not yet been a PS3 exclusive that makes we want to pick it up (though God of War three looks pretty darn cool and Little Big Planet has gotten amazing reviews). There are several XBox exclusives which I have enjoyed, and I think that live is still better than the online network supported by Sony.
I got a Wii second, and I think that's the way to go for a second console, no matter which you have (360 or PS3) because it's fundementally different from the other two. It's much more kid friendly and family friendly, and it has much more appeal for those who are not hardcore gamers.
The only reason for me to think of getting a PS3 right now is for the Blu-ray player, otherwise, it adds very little to my game choices considering that I already have a 360, and if I had a PS3, I think I would feel the same about the 360, they're both good, but you really only need one of the two.

I'm not a massive gamer, so the decision was easy for me - PS3 - I can then justify it as I now have my first Bluray player (I've been buying discs for some time) It's one of the better Bluray players too. (Great pic, upscales DVDs and software updatable)
I've seen too many horror red-ring-of-death stories about the XBOX360 too.
If you want to play online with your mates, obviously you need to choose whichever one they have.
If you have kids, a Wii may be more fun for them.

Well what do you want it for? Personally, I own a Wii, my room mate owns a PS3 and my other room mate is looking to buy a 360 (again, his broke somehow).
As for what gets played the most...that would be the PS3, mostly because we are all big time gamers. The PS3 also has the best blue ray player on the market (because it gets software updates for free) and should always be able to work.
That said, I suppose I've logged more time behind the Wii than the PS3 in that I've beaten Zelda, Prince of Persia, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and gotten more than half way through Metroid, Spyro, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart and another game or two...and do really love the system for playing with friends. I'm glad I bought and own the Wii.
The PS3 has only had two games beaten on it by all 3 of my room mates (though madden gets played a lot on it so that could count) which would be Metal Gear Solid and Army of 2. The other games come and go as we rent them.
Personally, I have no interest in a 360...just never have.
