It is simply amazing, it has good graphic and great sound of music and you DEFINITELY should get it. U have a lot of classic songs played like Lithium (Live) by Nirvana, Saturday Night's alright by Elton John, and So Lonely by Police. it now supports the playing of lead and bass guitar through guitar controllers, drums through a drum controller, and vocals through a microphone. You now have 6 play modes, my favorite one is the Do or Die mode, and the most frustrating is the Perfectionist mode, you have to pretty much hit the keys right on and 100% to succeed in that one. The career mode is really deep and really awesome. U get a bunch of weird challenges in the game, and now you can complete each gig with any kind of instrument you like, which is my favorite part of this game. Some of the challenges are really easy but a lot of them can be frustrating, but at least they are challenging, and that makes it fun.
And the graphics is jut fantastic! I have to say that it is the single biggest improvement that they have made as compared to the prior Guitar Hero games. Even though I must say that it is still not as good as Rock Band 2. (Haha)The game used to look kinda cartoonish but now it is very polished and authentic, and it won't distract you from enjoying the game. fretboard doesn't have those distracting designs anymore, and also a lot of the things in the game just look a whole lot bigger.
I still don't like the audio that much, it is very inconsistent. Sometimes the sound gets abnormally too loud or too low. I think that in terms of the audio aspect Guitar Hero can definitely improve itself.
But overall, I think it is still a great game!

"With a nod to its predecessor World Tours, Activision/Neversoft's Guitar Hero 5 raises a goblet of rock and proclaims in a thunderous roar: Best Guitar Hero Ever. From the moment you enter the game, you are a button away from playing one of 85 tracks already available. This new mode (aptly named "Party Play") waits behind the soft music of the title screen which showcases the game's song list. This could serve perfectly as a party's background music until someone screams, "Oh my God, they have Ramstein - Du Hast!?" Then just plug in an instrument, and play. Players can join or leave Party Play at any time. There are no menus, and no selections; it's so inviting it practically whispers, "play me."
Another great thing about GH5 is that a lead and bass guitar are no longer required. In fact, you could have four lead guitars, with no bass, no drums, and no singer! There is also an ingenious new multiplier called "Band Moment" that can raise your multiplier to x16. This new feature capitalizes on that moment just before the climax in a song. As the tempo builds, each member of the band must consecutively hit a section of fiery notes. If every member succeeds, their highways are endowed with flames as the crowd erupts. What makes this multiplier so clever is that it combines a reward for teamwork with the climax of a great rock song, mirroring the purpose of a song's climax: to excite. "

While Guitar Hero games are fun to play for a while, especially with friends that are terrible at it, there is not enough variety in the game concept for me to keep paying for the new versions of the game.
I actually enjoy another music game a lot more. Wii Music, while being uniformly slagged by the gaming press, is in my opinion the best music game in the world. It's the only game that let's you take creative control of the music. The game is incredibly difficult to play, but that is part of the enjoyment for me. When I listen to my crazy renditions of twinkle twinkle little star and can say that it is perfect I have a true sense of accomplishment. I do not get that same feeling from memorizing the button sequences in Guitar Hero 5.

What do you think of Guitar Hero 5?
Have you played the game? Are the lyrics for people who are singing legible unlike GHWT? Does the microphone andgamedo a good job of registering what pitch you sing? I'm not interested in a link to reviews, just your thoughts. Thanks!

I think Guitar Hero 5 is a big departure from its predecessors, with new features available.

Personally I am not too big on Guitar Hero 5, granted I have not played it very much. I have played other Guitar Hero games a lot though, and the basic formula is still the same and it's the basic formula that I think is not that exciting anymore. While Guitar Hero games are fun to play for a while, especially with friends that are terrible at it, there is not enough variety in the game concept for me to keep paying for the new versions of the game.
