Well, let's see here. Brett Farve was on the cover of a Madden game. Before the game was even released, he moved from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets, and the Packers had a bad season. Also, his image as a Packer is forever ruined.
Yes, I'd say its true.

I know their last football game All-Pro Football 2k8 didn't exactly set the world on fire, but I'm pretty sure that if they still had the license, they would be giving Madden some stiff competition again

So how do you feel about the Madden Curse?
The "Madden Curse" says any NFL player who is on the box art for the latest Madden video game release will either have a bad season, or get injured leading to retirement.

I don't think being on the cover of the Madden game has anything to do with a player having a bad season or getting injured. If it happens, solely coincidence. After all, does anyone truly believe that those chosen who is on the cover of Madden has psychic powers to know who will get injured or have a bad season and put that player on the front? Or do they have magical powers to MAKE that particular player get injured or play poorly? The magical powers idea is absurd, the pyschic one isn't as absurd as there are proven psychics, BUT I say it's a minute, very remote possibility at the very best.

Not true, its all pure coincidence. The real curse here is EA monopolizing NFL videogames. I'm not really into American Football, but I remember Sega/Visual Concepts pumping out football games that just plain destroyed the Madden games. I know their last football game All-Pro Football 2k8 didn't exactly set the world on fire, but I'm pretty sure that if they still had the license, they would be giving Madden some stiff competition again
