Question about the Jeff mission in Grand Theft Auto 4

Jeff didn't get hit by the car, the car missed him and he walked off but the mission complete music came over?

I just read the strategy guide to see what it said, if maybe there is some special ending to that mission where Jeff doesn't get hit. It does confirm though that Jeff is supposed to get hit by that car, and he drops a bunch of money.

Is this the PC version of GTA IV you're playing? There are definitely some mission glitches in that version, and you may need to update to the newest patch:
