I like to take my time with all games and explore every facet of it. It makes my wife crazy cause she's a run-and-gunner, and I'm an explorer and have kind of a "salted earth" philosophy (leave nothing standing, moving or living). This philosophy has gotten me into MANY problems, but by the same token, it's reaped numerous rewards!
Still, when it comes to cheats, I'll try, try again and again, but about the tenth fail, I'll go look up the strategy or hint that will get me past that one part. I like to be challenged and to explore and use my brain to get me thru - but at the same time, I strongly dislike being frustrated, repetative or unsuccessful.
I've also noticed that if you get TOO many cheats, the game looses it's appeal and there are no surprises or sense of accomplishment. So I try to keep the cheats and hints to a minimum.

Used cheats a long time ago a lot as a youngster because it was the only way to make adult-level games work out. Now typically use them only if there's a really hard puzzle or obstacle that ya tried to complete in vain - a jillion times!

It is very disappointing to see someone who doesnt even try to beat the game on their own first... where is the challenge and glory in that?

In Video Games, would you rather get to the end of the game slowly (if ever) and by yourself or use cheats and get there quickly?
Do you think cheats are for cheats?
Or do you think it;s fine and each to their own?

The whole point of playing a game is the sense of accomplishment you get when you beat it on your own; however, there are times when playing video games that you get stuck after repeatedly trying to beat a level of the game. Only then would I used cheats in this circumstance.

I think if your paying a good amount of money for a game and lets be honest games do cost quite a bit then it's pointless completing them instantly with a silly cheat and I think cheats are for cheats :P it's in the name is it not? :D I do like a good challenge from games as well so cheating spoils that :P

There is a special sense of "accomplishment" by purposely playing really hard levels with cheats or god mode on. At least it's amusing ;) Used cheats a long time ago a lot as a youngster because it was the only way to make adult-level games work out. Now typically use them only if there's a really hard puzzle or obstacle that ya tried to complete in vain - a jillion times!

When playing video games I like to sit down and play a good role playing game such as world of warcraft since it has no ending. http://i659.photobucket.com/albums/uu320/bbratteberget/41nuUdybx6L_SL500_AA240_.jpg

I'm totally with you on RPG's - so awesome.
As much as I love them, my wife won't let me get WOW. She says I'll get addicted and never do anything else.
Sadly, she's right... :(

I've always found it to be more rewarding to beat the game myself. Once I beat it on my own i have no problems using cheats in the future... this usually only applies to games like Sims , Diablo, Etc... It is very disappointing to see someone who doesnt even try to beat the game on their own first... where is the challenge and glory in that?
