I need to know how to get stars on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock?

The number of stars depends on how many notes you correctly hit during the song. The better you do, the more stars you get. If you hit EVERY note, you get five golden stars.
I think it's actually impossible to get below three stars. If you're playing so badly that you would technically qualify for 1 or 2 stars, you just Fail. But drmatt has it right. The more accurate you are and the fewer notes you miss, the more stars you get. It doesn't have to do with using star power or anything. I've gotten 5 stars on songs even when I never hit star power.
