I need to get better at left 4 dead it gets old fast being kicked all the time. If only it were halo. Anyone have any tips for L4D VS mode?

Left 4 Dead is a pretty simple game, but in verses mode it can be quite strategic. When you are the survivors you must stick together, a person left behind is a person that will be victimized. Also, combine meleeing in between your shots. Meleeing can and will save your life in verses mode. Finding power weapons also helps, being stuck with the basic weapons could be a bad day when the infected gets a Tank. Its better to play with someone who knows the levels and are semi-good a defending themselves. Getting stuck on a team with "newbies" can be rather harsh when looking at the final score.
When you are infected, look for any persons that are wandering alone. They are easy targets, seeing as it takes longer for the other survivors to rescue them as it would if they were right next to eachother. Dont attack the same person! When someone is using a smoker and has the survivor binded wait for someone to rescue them and pounce them too. Pouncing the smokers trapped survivor does nothing for the team. When using the boomer try to throw up on all, or a majority of them at once. Also spitting on someone that has a hunter on top of them helps your hunter friend, as a horde of zombies assist him with a kill and also creates a barrier around him making it harder for the survivors to rescue that particular individual.

Stay with your teammates.
Don't use the hunting rifle.
For hordes of zombies keep a few molotovs or pipe bombs.
Try talking to your teammates over the headset.
Let one teammate go first in case of random tank attack or just in case there's a witch.
Try using sub-machine gun or the shotgun.
Stay away from boomers or just in case melee them when close.
