Question

Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
Does an Xbox360's hard drive info get erased when it has the RROD? Or can I simply take it off and put it on my back-up 360 and play on?
The Red Ring of Death has plagued 360 owners for years. I'm about to get a new 360 console, but will also get a back-up (refurbished) 360 just in case. I know that 360's with the Jasper chip have no RROD problem and I will get one of those...BUT...just in case...I'll get a second one. If I have music and photos and game saves on my Jasper hard drive and I get the RROD, I want to take off the HD and put it on the back-up 360 and all will be good...right???

Yes. My first 360 came with the 20 gig hard drive and I got the red ring of death. So I bought an arcade unit, put my 20 gig hard drive on it and all my stuff was on it. The only problem is you won't be able to play your dlc, or arcade games unless you are on xbox live, or you do the license transfer. But your hard drive will still have everything on it.

Yes, it will be fine. The problem is in the 360 itself, not the hard drive, so if you experience the RROD, you can just go purchase another one, and not lose a bit of what you had stored on the HD.
