The way I see it you have a few ways to do this each with pros and cons.

Try Ebay or Craigslist. It is your safest bet, but it may not be very cheap depending on demand.

A cheap option might be tag sales as the seller may be more interested in getting rid of stuff rather than making decent money.

If you have a service you can offer or stuff you would like to get rid of you may want to barter for one. http://www.u-exchange.com/

. . . and finally the ideal, http://www.freecycle.org/ If you can find it here you will be getting it for free, but you may have to go pick it up

FYI a quick look at my local Freecycle revealed a sega master system and a sega saturn. ^_^ Sweet!

You should try a pawn shop or your local flea market, I always see old school game consoles there.

I always go to www.shopgoodwill.com first when looking for gaming systems of an antique nature. You are able to buy and pickup or have shipped to you. It is one of the best online auctions that I have found hence far.

You can start with ebay, craigslist but I would also try local flea market and Goodwill/Salvation Army, also hit up local garage/estate sales.
