I was buying NES games when they were released. I was just a wee geek back then... but NES loving geek none-the-less. I still have some of my old games.
Games cost between 30 and 80 dollars. I remember buying Mario Bros (not Super Mario Bros... just the regular Mario) for $30 at ToysRus. I also remember dropping the piggy bank for The Legend Of Zelda that had a battery in it to save games.
It was rad.

NES game originally sold between $40-60 when they were first released. Later prices dropped to around $30ish. SNES games could be more expensive at close to $70 to $80 depending on the title and if the game had any special chips or software (like the FX Chip).

What was the price (in USD) of NES games when they were originally sold?
Most Wii games cost $50. How much did NES games cost when they were first available.
I'm also wondering about the original prices of SNES and N64 games.

What I find as interesting is the price of the console is only $99. I wish I could get a PS3 for that.
The dreamcast ran for $50 during its end days IIRC lol. Now that's a pricepoint a want to see for consoles haha.
