Eating carrots does not improve eyesight, that is a myth. However, carrots contain beta-carotene which converts to vitamin A. Vitamin A is important for healthy eyes and for maintaining proper eyesight. So yes they are good for the eyes, but will not improve your eyesight.

Carrots actually do strengthen the rods and cones in your eyes. They can improve eyesight.
