Using Mouthwash as Toothpaste?

Is it fine to do so? Any recommendations from Dentists?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25

I mentioned to my dentist a few years back that I used mouthwash once (when I was on vacation and forgot my toothpaste) and he said they generally have the same effect; the bristles on the brush are what you need to help you scrape the gunk off, and that's what really helps. Flossing is still recommended to get between the teeth, but brushing with mouthwash should work about the same as brushing with toothpaste. I'm not sure if mouthwash would help for those with sensitive teeth, I think in that respect there would be something lacking, and perhaps toothpaste contains a few chemicals that aren't in mouthwash - I'm not an expert. But I just wanted to pass along that my dentist said that sounded fine to him.
