Many people believe that the bicameral legislature was a compromise to appease both small states and big states. Were you happy with this as a long-term solution? Do you think that now (in 2009), it still makes sense to have small states hold a 'disproportionate' amount of political power in the Senate? Or do you think that this set-up helps to make sure no state gets left out too much and therefore promotes national unity?
