unRAID vs FlexRAID vs Windows Home Server

Here is what I want this NAS to be capable of:

-Data redundancy (so if one drive fails, the data is still available)
-DLNA support
-Flexibility (different drive sizes etc.)
-Ability to add drives on the go

Will any of these work so that one 'drive' shows up on my computer but there are several on the NAS? (like RAID but I don't want to use a hardware RAID controller)

And please don't recommend Drobo. Locally it's over twice the price it is in America.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

lifehacker literally just covered this in an open vote and then posted a whole lot of details about your options.

personally, I'd go with windows home server, but the unraid option looks good also.

I saw that article but I'm looking for a specific comparison of the above three products, their differences and advantages.

Use Linux. You can do that with Logical Volume Management (LVM). And maybe you can try OpenSolaris, ZFS or BTRFS.
