Under what circumstance would you hire a personal assistant?

What would it take for you to hire a personal assistant? Would you hire one simply because you had the money, such as after winning the lottery? Or would you have to have a certain amount of work (an overwhelming amount) before you chose to hire an assistant?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Quite honestly, I would hire a personal assistant more so for company than to help organize and run my life. I prefer to do things myself. I can't see sending someone out to get my dry cleaning. But it would be nice to have someone to organize business trips with and discuss the pattern or style of desk for my office. I wouldn't be able tohire a stranger as my personal assistant. It would have to be someone I know that I wouldn't mind spending a great deal of time with, and whose company I enjoy. I am far from an " all business " time person. So I would prefer to be surrounded by my friends than complete strangers that are willing to walk my dog for me. I certainly can't see any of this happening unless I somehow reach celebrity status.

I agree. No matter how rich I ended up, I wouldn't want a personal assist. for my personal stuff. If rich enough... I'd have an accountant, but an assist. would only come in handy if I was in charge of multiple charity organizations... then it would be on a business only basis.

I would hire a personal assistant if I had an overwhelming amount of work, which I usually always do and I had the extra money.

I actually pay my teens to do extra work, errands etc for me. The work is here when they want it. They know me well and actually probably do a better job than anyone else I could ever bring in.

The only thing from stopping me from having them work for me full time is money. If I had more money, I would not hesitate. By working so much I tend to miss out on the things that matter most to me, my family.

It would have to be an overwhelming amount of work. To do it just because you came into money would just make you lazy. The only other way would be if I became disabled.
