Is this video real or fake?

Even with a lifetime of soccer (football) practice and high end professional game play is it possible that this stunt by David Beckham and Pepsi is real or have we been faked? What do you think? What can you prove about this being faked or real?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Everyone except Beckham is saying that it's fake. In this article, David Beckham admits that he did practice those shots before filming... for hours! I can see that if he put in that much time into it... it could be real.

"I spent five or six hours on the beach so I had a lot of time to practice." Could he possibly be telling the truth?

Yet at the same time that same article states that if he could do it as the commercial is trying to make you believe... on the spur of the moment and not planned, then soccer would be more popular in America than it currently is.

Maybe it's real, and Mike just worked hard at... and maybe he had some editing help. Regardless, the end result is millions of hits and money for Pepsi. It's always about the end result. He IS a great player!

You can tell by the pixels...

No, really. The can of Pepsi and the ball have a different ambient light, a computer generated hue if you like. If you work with this stuff every day you get to notice the difference. Watch the video again and see how light reflects differently off the ball and the can.

Mind you, even adding a bit of graphics, I think Beckham can really do the trick. I think they might have changed a frame or two or.... more :) but even so, a cool video!
