Great question. Twins are known to act very similar, especially when they're together. Some try to purposely mimick each other and have a very close relationship bond.
Sometimes twins share similar life experiences if they grow up in the same house together, and act even more alike.
Although psychological research have found that some identical-birth children have genetically inherited personality traits. If identical children are adpoted out to totally different families, and reunited as adults, they sometimes find out they have more in common that just their looks!
Similar personality traits are seen, or even more cultural interests like favorite foods.
If you'd like to speak with identicals and know the difference better, ask them if they have a certain trait that's easy for you to see.
Some varieties of twins will have a distinctive pigment mark like a mole, or something else like a different speech pattern. This might help tell the difference between the two easily.
