The difference between OTA analog/digital broadcasting and cable's analog/digital transmitting is with a cable-ready TV you can view the analog channels without the Comcast set top box, but you need that box to watch the digital channels as you stated in the 200 range.
So if you're currently a Comcast or other TV subscriber like DishNetwork or Satellite TV then you won't see any change in the way you receive or view TV.

How is Comcast Handling the Digital Switchover?
I know that with either digital cable or satellite, a person is pretty much covered for the digital switch over. With all the research I have put into this though, one fact still elludes me, and I was hoping someone could help me.
How is Comcast Cable handling the digital switchover? Currently the digital versions of the channels are up in the 200's section of their list, and the analog channels are still in the bottom. Will they move those D-channels down and clear the A-channels out? This would be ideal, as then they could add more channels in that space that the D-channels took up. Or will Comcast just keep things the same?
Also, how does this affect people WITHOUT boxes, have just a regular analog set, and just get straight cable? Will they be out of the loop, or will Comcast automatically convert the channels back to analog on their side before they send out the signal?
Thank you.

Its only "Over the Air" broadcasts that will be effected. So "rabbit ears" and rooftop antenna will have to get a digital converter box to receive broadcasts.
