When you were growing up, was "Married... With Children" banned in your house?

I know so many children of the 80s and 90s were not allowed to watch it. What do you think, specifically, bothered parents so much?

No it wasn't banned in our house. We got to watch it, and we turned out ok. That's funny you bring up the Simpsons. I remember one of my friends parents wouldn't let them watch the Simpsons too.

I think the show had a lot of adult humor so it's not exactly what you want your kids to be watching, so that's why parents banned it.

Yes Married with Children and the Simpsons were both banned. It seemed to promote children cursing and behaving badly and portrayed parents as totally dimwitted other than to talk about sex or the lack of. I think it was just too racy for the time.

No, it was my parents favorite show on t.v., I grew up watching it and R rated movies. I turned out just fine. My eyes would only get covered up during sex scenes at the movies.
