Let's see. Where to begin:

Family Guy will be on the list year after year. That goes without saying.

Followed by The Big Bang theory. Who doesn't love Sheldon?

Next is How I Met Your Mother. Barney is king. Incidentally, I'm watching it right now as i write this. A rerun but i don't care.

The Amazing Race. My wife loves it and got me hooked on it.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with the guy who sounds a lot like Gary Vaynerchuk.

Flight of the Conchords. Quirky New Zealand comedy at it's best. I'm happy that the 2nd season will start in January.

Life on Mars. A great story and probably the best soundtrack on network tv.

I'll include House because I love it even though the newest season has been sub-par.

I'm having a hard time coming up with two more. So I am going to leave it at eight.

Mentalist
Burn Notice
Fringe
Sarah Conner Chronicles
Survivor
Psych
Monk
Boston Legal
30 Rock
The Office

In order of preference. These shows are all very consistently good. There are others that have a few good episodes and a few bad ones. Also, these shows aren't overly emotional. I don't really enjoy lots of emotional drama. The Office occasionally dips into a little sadness, but its perhaps 1-2 episodes per season so it's not bad.

1. Boston Legal. It was both smart and funny, something hard to come by these days. Plus William Shatner is hilarious. Sad to see it go.

2. The Office. I don't think they could have casted better for this show. It seriously is funny every single episode plus they develop characters which is refreshing in TV.

3. Dexter. Um a guy who investigates murders while at the same time, murders peoples? Talk about mind boggling.

4. How I Met Your Mother. Just something about this show draws me in. Maybe its the fact that I just want to know who the mother is or maybe its Neil Patrick Harris's suave charm. I dunno, its wonderful.

5. Entourage. I really didn't expect this show to be any good now but it still surprises me. Yes, something have been done twice now, but hey I still think the chemistry between all the guys is great and it really works well for the show.

6. The Big Bang Theory. Although not as good as the first season, this is still a funny show. Something about being a nerd and being funny is just surprising to me.

7. Operation Repo. Ok, this is seriously the most unique show on TV. Who thought of this? Every episode is funny and intense all at the same time. Plus Matt seriously has a 'roid rage problem.

8. Gangland. Gangs are such a secret society that not many people know how they formed and why they do what they do. This show dives deep into gang members lives providing insight on just what they stand for. Very interesting stuff.

9. Time Warp. I will admit, some stuff they Time Warp is stupid but a lot of the stuff they do is f--king awesome! I never knew a bubble popped imploding on itself. Plus slow motion makes everything look better.

10. Two and Half Men. I think it's every guys dream to be Charlie. And the fact that he is polar opposites of his brother just make this show work. Plus the dumb kid is always there for a good laugh.

10. Stargate Atlantis - I like it because it's sci-fi, its action sequences are entertaining and realistic, and it's actually having a final season. I hate soap opera type shows that never end!!
9. Family Guy - Still making me laugh
8. Chuck - They are really good at the comedy bit while maintaining plausibility of the action sequences
7. Dexter - I like the complexity of the title character. Can get cheesy at times.
6. SNL - My favorite character right now is Coach Hines.
5. House - Still entertaining for me. I like the back story more than anything else. But I can imagine it dropping of my list next year.
4. The Colbert Report - Very informative, and I like the way he makes fun of people.
3. The Daily Show - Actually really informative. Plus I tend to be a liberal on most issues.
2. South Park - I used to hate the show, but it really has increased content to a somewhat educated level while still being as ridiculous and occasionally implausible as it was
1. Heroes - Very entertaining, very different, and very well-made. I just wish they would move on to the final season!!

1. "True Blood" - I love vampire shows! This pushes the risque bounaries to say the least. It is dark, yet humorous. The small town that the show takes place in is almost a character in itself. Also, by far the most creepy and disturbing intro of any show I've ever seen.

http://www.seriesblog.es/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/true-blood-poster.jpg

2. "Friday Night Lights" - Great small texas town high school football team. The shaky camera feel adds drama as well as an aesthetic uniqueness (not an overbearing at '24' or 'The Shield').

http://polaris.gseis.ucla.edu/cmediavi/images/fridaynightlights.jpg

3. "Survivor" - One of my first reality shows I'd ever seen (years ago). I love the fact that they have stayed true to the original show format, yet made enough changes to keep it fresh. They haven't resorted to 'Survivor: Celebs' or anything too forced to mix it up. Its been very organic and true to its original format.

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2006/08/24/business/24survivor.600.gif

4. "Amazing Race" - Great reality show. Low on drama. Group of people race around the world for a million bucks. Casting is always great. Its neat to see all the different countries.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/50/AmazingRaceFamily.jpg

5. "The Closer" - This show wins for 'best lead character' in my mind. The chief investigator is a southern woman with a strong backbone and a soft heart. Some great one-liners, and usually interesting plot lines in each episode.

6. "Reaper" - This supernatural campy show fills the void of Buffy big time. Incredible predictable beat to the show, but quirky and satisfying nontheless.

http://images.apple.com/itunesaffiliates/US/2007/10/07/Reaper_300x300.jpg

7. "The Ultimate Fighter" - Big fan of the UFC. A reality show abut mixed martial artists battling for a 6-figure contract in the UFC. I get my testosterone dose for the week.

http://www.mmaringreport.com/images/stories/400_images/tuf_7_final_400.jpg

8. "Grey's Anatomy" - Gatta have a medical drama in the mix. It used to be ER, but I fell off that boat long ago. Its often a bit over the top, but overall pretty good.

http://www.greysanatomyinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/greysad.JPG

9. "Raising the Bar" - This wins most underrated of the year. I used to be a HUGE fan of "The Practice" years ago and have been waiting for another court drama of that caliber to come back into the rotation. Finally! First year and a BIG success.

http://www.impawards.com/tv/posters/raising_the_bar.jpg

10. "90210" - Fills the teen drama need. Used to be a fan of Dawson's Creek. This is mega rich kid drama which differs from Dawson's small town drama, but it gives me the same satisfaction. Guilty pleasure show.

10. Wheel of Fortune. Wheel of Fortune has never been more exciting than this year because they just added the million dollar wedge to the wheel, which makes the show great to watch every night.

9. The Office. I used to love this show, and lately it's been kind of a "let-down," but they have definitely pulled off some above average episodes in the past year.

8. Scrubs. Scrubs finished off it's last season on NBC this year, and it was better than ever (but I still want to know the Janitor's name). This show is moving to ABC in 2009.

7. The 2008 Beijing Olympics. I think this counts as a TV show. Very exciting, particularly those incredibly close swimming races.

6. King of the Hill. I don't know why this show is being canceled, because it is very funny and observational. I particularly enjoyed their attack on MySpace.

5. Chuck. Very funny. It's the only action/drama show I watch because many times Chuck needs to use his "nerd skills" to solve a dilemma (such as flying a helicopter based on his knowledge from video games).

4. 30 Rock. Every character on this show is incredibly funny and quirky. The guest stars this season are great (Oprah Winfrey, Steve Martin, Jennifer Aniston).

3. The Simpsons. People have always been saying that the Simpsons is going downhill, and I agreed with them for a while, but I think seasons nineteen and twenty have been classic.

2. Late Night with Conan O'Brien. 2008 was Conan's last full year in his "12:35/11:35 central" time slot, and it showed that he was trying to make this year a great one. From spending over five minutes just spinning his wedding ring on his desk to working at UPS for a day, this was Conan's funniest year.

1. Saturday Night Live. There are few things on earth funnier than Tina Fey's impression of and resemblance to Sarah Palin.
