The 30 minute show that I miss the most, believe it or not was "So Weird" which showed on the Disney channel for 3 years. The first two years when Fiona was on the show were fabulous. It was like a funny version of X-files. Every show was different. And the plot was based around Molly Phillips music career (played by McKenzie Phillips). The original songs were some of the best I've ever heard in a series and were written and sung by McKenzie Phillips in seasons 1 and 2 and then added Alexz Johnson in Season 3. Disney cancelled the show after the third season, which was their norm at the time. The fans were crushed and the hoped for music CD never came about. I will always miss this show and encourage you to search it out if you haven't had the good fortune to see it. And did I mention that almost all the actors have gone in to apear in other shows. As usual Disney has an eye for talent.

Here's a great song from the series, the video sucks, but it's the best I could find... Sorry about the video quality.

30 minute show? I always liked Home Improvement. Tim Allen being a local boy and all.
Also, I Love Lucy done in the modern day could be very interesting. The show was surprisingly hip back in the day, if you go back and actually listen to the jokes. A lot of innuendo there for the 1950s.

I didn't discover Dharma and Greg until it was already canceled, but I sure would love it back.

I know you said 30 minute show, but for me, I'd give a lot to have the 1-hour drama Firefly back on TV. 30 minute show? I always liked Home Improvement. Tim Allen being a local boy and all.

Dharma and Greg should be on the list of brilliant but cancelled. The actors were terrific (Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson), Chuck Lorre obviously is a most talented producer (Two and a Half Men, Roseanne, Cybill, Grace Under Fire), and the comedy was just great. I didn't discover Dharma and Greg until it was already canceled, but I sure would love it back.

As much as they are before my time, I am a sucker for classic game shows and would love to see a ''Name That Tune'' remake. I think it would have to be changed slightly, since most of today's music would not be recognizable using a few notes on the piano. So rather than naming that tune in number of notes, they could use seconds.

That's easy - Sports Night by Aaron Sorkin. The funniest/smartest/quickest show to ever grace any media. When he left and started Studio 60 on Sunset Strip, it wasn't nearly as good as Sports Night. I miss the chemistry - especially Felicity Huffman and Peter Krause! Also, anything with Sabrina Lloyd ROCKS!

Sit-coms are typically the most approachable shows and none have dealt with important and, occasionally, taboo issues such as abortion, race relations, homosexuality and more, as All in the Family and its numerous spin-offs: Maude, The Jeffersons and -- spawned from Maude -- Good Times. You might recall them as cheesy 70's fare but really dig into the episodes and you'll find they tackled hot-button issues with heart and soul. I don't think any shows have really covered topic so eloquently (and, these days, might not be allowed to!). Of course, for all out laughs and needing to watch it again and again for subtleties, give me Arrested Development any day!
