If I love The Wire, what other shows would I like?

The Wire seems to be almost in a category and on a level by itself.

If I love The Wire, are there any other series you recommend I check out?

I just went to your The Wire page, read a bit about it and watched the "how to play chess" video. I had never seen The Wire before I don't have cable let alone HBO but that show seems great!, it reminds me a bit of the movie Training Day and the tv series The Shield and I loved both that movie and that series. I will be looking further to see where I can watch The Wire online I love shows like that.

I don't really get to watch much tv so the best recommendation I could give would be The Shield. Good cops, bad cops, real crooks, sneaky politicians and a lot of twisted plots and unhappy endings. The show kept me on my toes, Vic Mackey always had me guessing he seemed ahead of the curve with everyone and everything. Really a good show.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Would have been nice to have a little explanation of why lovers of The Wire would like it, though just by knowing what the two are, some similarities are apparent! :)

Thats why it was just a good recommendation. Guns, violence, gangs. Only a recommendation thats why I agreed with the shield as a helpful answer. Just trying to come up with another one. Good day.
