I'd like to see a video of an RCA TCR-100 running.
The TCR-100 was an automated 2" quad video cart player / recorder. It was used to play commercials at television stations and networks. Each commercial would be in it's own cart. The carts were loaded into a carousel, there were thumb selector switches to tell the machine how many spots were in each break.
The machine had two player slots. It would load the first cart into the A slot, then rotate the carousel over to load the second cart into the B slot. Then it would run back to be ready to take the cart out of A. Two seconds before the commercials began, the operator would hit "start" to start the pre-roll on the A side. 10 seconds before the end of the first spot, a tone would sound. that would end after 8 seconds, then the B side would pre-roll and the output would switch to the b side as the second commercial started. by this time, the A cart is on it's way out. The carousel slides over a couple slots and loads spot 3 into side A. Then the carousel would return to the B side to be ready for spot 2 to be ejected.
I'd love a pointer to a youtube video that shows the machine in action.
Thanks.
